I've been writing notes and essays (unpublished) for at least a decade. I used to cringe while reading my past work.
My writing reached a turning point about a year ago. Now, it feels like somebody else is talking to me through the page and saying interesting things. And that's really the only bar: whether I, personally, am happy to eat my own cooking.
So now I'm upping the stakes and hitting the open market.
